We all strive to look our best. I don't know about you, but I am always on the prowl for the best beauty products at the best possible price. As a mother of 5, I am balling on a very tight budget! Just kidding! I am serious about being on a tight budget though. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries to find a great product that not only fits within my budget but actually meets my needs. That is not the case with the BESTOPE Three Panel LED Lighted Makeup Mirror. After I saw the price and read the reviews I figured this product sounded too good to be true. So, I decided to be realistic with my expectations.  I was expecting to receive a mediocre product.  I did not expect to fall in love with this mirror.

My main purpose when purchasing this mirror was portability. With only one bathroom and six people, I needed a mirror that I could take anywhere. It would have to offer decent light too.

The Bestope makeup mirror arrived in just two days. The package was extremely light. This did not help with my skepticism. Opening the package was simple. Inside the box was the mirror, the base, a USB cord, and the product instructions. Both, the mirror and the base were intact and were wrapped in bubble wrap.

I was in heaven right away. Anyone who truly knows me knows that I love anything pink or in the pink family. The rose gold finishing was absolutely beautiful. I expected the color to be slightly lighter, but I was not disappointed. It is always fun when our beauty products are beautiful too.

Assembly couldn't get any easier. You simply take the end of the mirror and snap it into the top of the base. There will be a slight click sound once the pieces are fully secured. This process takes 30-45 seconds, literally.

To be a portable makeup vanity style mirror, it is a decent size. It is slightly smaller than I expected. The base is sturdy. It also has a small section where you can place your tweezers, jewelry or small makeup products.  The position of the mirror can be adjusted up and down with a 180° rotation ability.  It seems to hold it's position, even though there is not a lock. This may or may not be a deal-breaker depending, on your preferences.

To power the mirror, I personally plug the USB cord (included) into my laptop if I am at my desk or into a wall outlet if I am in my kitchen. You can also power the mirror with 4 AAA batteries, which are not included. I personally feel like using the USB cord is the best route. For one, the battery life is not great. Secondly, with batteries, the lighting was significantly dimmer than its full capability. If you choose to use batteries I highly recommend you use rechargeable batteries.

With touch sensor technology, powering the device was super simple. A light touch of the power sensor on the bottom of the middle panel will turn the mirror lights on. This is very accurate and powers on quickly.  The lights can be adjusted up and down using the touch screen sensor. With a long touch of the power button, you can dim and brighten the lights in intervals until it meets your current lighting needs.

Now for the real test, just how well do the lights really work? They are phenomenal. No matter what room I was in or what the current lighting situation was, I was able to find a brightness or dimness to meet my needs. At times, the brightness was overwhelmingly bright though. This made it difficult to see what I was doing. With a simple readjustment of the brightness or repositioning of the mirror, I was able to solve this problem.

The left panel mirror is broken into two sections. The top half is a 2x magnification and the bottom section is a 3x magnification. These magnification settings make it easy to tweeze even the smallest of hairs or get those fine lines perfect. I do wish that these sections were bigger. I also think that it would be better if the magnifications were 3x and 5x instead of just 2x and 3x.

At a glance, the mirror seems to be made very durable. Since the mirror is so lightweight, I feel like the plastic might be a little thin. You would definitely not want to drop it. As long as you are careful, the mirror should be safe and durable.

• Choice of Powering Options: You can use (4) AAA batteries (not included) or you could use the USB Cord (included).

Cons:

•  Short Battery Life: the lights seem to drain regular batteries rather quickly. It is not only a nuisance to constantly have to change the batteries; it can get very pricey. To cut down the cost of buying batteries, you can buy rechargeable batteries. The best solution would be to use the USB cord (included with the package). 
• Magnification is Only on the Left Panel: this can seem quite inconvenient; however, with the rotatable features, you should be able to work out a good position to see your right side.
